First, the Olympics is an organization that helps families, friends, and many people get together because it is one of the most watched events all year long. In the Olympics they compete in sports and players come to play for their countries’. The first Winter Olympics was held in Chamonix, France in 1924. The United States has held the most winter Olympics over the years. Japan is the only Asian country to host the winter Olympics. Most people enjoy the Olympics because they get together to cheer for their country. The players are picked specially because of their effort towards the game and their many years of practice and training. Most people enjoy watching the Olympic Games such as hockey, bobsledding, skiing, snowboarding, curling, and many other sports because these sports are played only in the winter. The next winter Olympics will be held in 2014 in Russia.

They would have them every four years. The time in between that, they would call it Olympiad. The modern Olympics have kept the customs for having the Olympics every four years. The Olympics were a religious event for the Greeks. The Olympics were dedicated to the Greek gods because they thought the Olympics were more religious. Next, today in the modern Olympics, this has become the most watched program and one of the biggest sporting events of all time because almost every country competes in this. Then, most people enjoy the Olympics but the most appealing sport is hockey because it is a very physical sport and because the US is good at this sport. All countries must practice very hard to play hockey because you must be in your best shape to even make the team. In conclusion, the Olympics are the most popular sporting event around the world because it makes all the countries compete for the gold, silver, and bronze medals. The Olympics bring families together because they want to cheer for their country and hope to win the gold.
